Q. How long will it take my interlibrary loan (ILL) book to arrive?

It depends on how big the lending library is, and how far away they are from the VDOT Research Library. Most ILL requests arrive at the library within 4-8 days, and are then shipped to the patron. However, some books may take longer to arrive if the lending library is especially busy, if they are in a different country, or if a problem occurs in the mailing process. 

If your ILL request is urgent, we can request that the lending library send that item to us sooner, but we cannot promise that it will arrive by the date needed.
