Books24x7 uses "Single Sign-On" authentication, designed specifically to work with Microsoft's Internet Explorer browser. So if you are using Internet Explorer and you go to Books24x7 from a computer on the VDOT network, you will be automatically recognized by your VDOT network credentials.
For this to be true, you must be a VDOT employee using a computer logged in to the VDOT network (like your work PC). However, if you prefer to use a browser like Chrome or Firefox (from your VDOT computer) you can still do that. You just won't log in automatically with a single click.
So if you decide to access Books24x7 using Chrome or Firefox at work, you will see a screen that looks like this:
Simply enter your full VDOT e-mail address and your current VDOT network password (shown above) to get into Books24x7.
