There are multiple online tools for looking up employees of VDOT and other Virginia state agencies.
If you are not a VDOT employee (on the state computer network) you can look up any state agency employee using this publicly accessible Commonwealth State Employee Directory for name, e-mail, phone number and agency of employment.
This data is based on an extract of the state's Personnel Management Information System (PMIS) and reflects updates received and processed on the previous business day by the state's Department of Human Resource Management.
VDOT employees with access to the DOTi Sharepoint site can access the new PMIS Org Chart. Another very useful resource on DOTi is the VDOT Organization Guide, an interactive guide that includes multiple organizational charts showing reporting structures, as well as other useful information about VDOT districts, divisions and work units.
State agency employees can also use Google Contacts which provides basic contact information for employees of Virginia state agencies, including a directory profile (name, number, address, etc.) as well as managers staff report to and direct reports (as applicable). A typical entry looks like this:
Note: In the recent past a VDOT Employee Directory was available on InsideVDOT at: https://insidevdot.cov.virginia.gov/Pages/EmployeeDirectory.aspx Effective 8-4-21 InsideVDOT was replaced with the new "DOTi" which is powered by SharePoint Online. It is not clear if the VDOT Employee Directory will be migrated to DOTi.
