VDOT does have a subscription to ICE Virtual Library...but it only includes 40 of the 46 journals ICE publishes, some of the conference proceedings, and almost none of the eBooks.
We started our subscription that way for three reasons:
1. It's an affordable way to subscribe to a large chunk of the types of articles and papers that VDOT engineers and planners are likely to find useful.
2. The few journals we don't subscribe to are expensive add ons...but we could add them. So if you see a journal you suggest we subscribe to, tell us with this online Recommendation Form.
3. Many of the eBooks in ICE have already been purchased by the library through the Knovel database, and we don't want to pay two times to access the same eBooks.
Your key to finding full text in ICE (literally) is to look for one of the icons below next to a title in your search results list. No icon means no bull text:
Unfortunately, ICE is set up to display all the publisher's content, not just the stuff we subscribe to...which means you'll probably stumble across something that looks useful, but you can't see the full text to be sure.
