The rights to a small percentage (especially in transportation and engineering) of the 16+ million articles in ScienceDirect have been "transferred" to other publishers in recent years.

The good news is that ScienceDirect can still help you discover potentially useful articles.

The bad news is that there is no longer a link to full text and you may find that clicking the links that read "Get Access" or "Get rights and content" require you to log in with your account, but still don't lead to full text.  You may even try to follow the prompts to "Sign in via your institution" and that doesn't work either.

Bottom line: If you find an article in ScienceDirect but can't quickly find the full text the library's Document Delivery Service can typically locate and deliver a copy to you in short order.

Simply use this ILL & Document Delivery Request Form to send us the citation for any published item you need.
