In a word, yes!

The Web site http://www.vdotplows.org/ is a publicly accessible Web site that reveals the location and status of highway equipment used in snow removal statewide using Global Positioning System (GPS) technology, which allows residents statewide the monitor the general progress of clearing operations.

The system uses 5-color coding to indicate road status, from green for generally clear/dry all all the way to red for impassable/dangerous.

VDOT still recommends using the site www.511virginia.org for general road conditions, but the vdotplows.org site does link viewers to highway cameras, which is one way to see how well traffic is moving.
