Yes, VDOT employees can easily find and read EBSCO eBooks on an iPad, iPad mini or iPhone. Simply log in to any EBSCO eBooks database using your Virtual Library Card credentials (which you can instruct your device to "remember"), find a book of interest, and select the EPUB format.
Why select EPUB over PDF for a portable device?
For a portable device like an iPad or iPhone, the EPUB open eBook standard allows your device to resize book text on the fly to fit the screen. PDFs are "image" files and they do not have "re-flowable" text, which makes them harder to read on a device, especially the smaller the device screen gets.
